It's a girl.... or is it a BOY!

We finally found out what we are having...It's a BOY! Let me explain my title to the blog entry. We were having our ultra sound and the ultra sound Tech, was showing us all the baby's vital organs and parts. Then we see on the screen...IT"S A GIRL! I looked at Brian and thought, oh yeah my gut instinct was right on it this time. (We thought our other two wonderful boys were going to be girls, anyways!) Thirty seconds later we hear the Dr. say, ugh..I think the umbilical cord just moved, nope...I'm so sorry it looks like we have a BOY! My heart was all over the place at this point. I took a deep breath and exhaled and thought, ok, we can do this again for the third time. What was going through my head at this point was, my bin of frilly cute girl things I have to put away, looks like were gonna save some money were set with boy hand me downs.

Oh the things I get to continue to enjoy...Three boys wrestling, cleaning up after my boys attempt to make it in the toilet, laundry with only only boy clothes to fold. Lot's of balls, bikes and lego's. Fort making, bug catching, knee scraping, and an attempt to keep up with the non stop growing appetites.

One day I will get to enjoy the joys of pink tutu's, barbies, playing house, babydolls, hair bows, makeup, the cute baby girl clothes, dress up,and Oh I forgot the DRAMA!!!

For now I will Enjoy my BOY"S. I know their is a special place in heaven for mothers with all boys, I know we are the strong ones selected to raise these future missionaries. I love my boys, and our little brother Noah who will be joining us this MAy 2010, we can't wait to meet you!

We are so excited to have our Uncle Nick Rich home from his mission. He returned recently from the San Diego California Mission. We are so proud of him and all his hard work he has put into these last 2 years. The boys have been counting down the days to see their "unckie" as Hunter now calls him. Welcome Home!

I can not believe that my baby has turned 4 years old. Wow how time flies when your raising children. Hunter is such a wonderful son, and we are grateful he is in our family. He is very imaginative, has the best stories in the world to tell, (Most are made up, but they are awesome). He is very determined, athletic, loving, caring. He loves to eat his fruits and veggies, and will ask for a salad over anything sweet most days. He has such a creative mind, and he is such a great friend to his big brother. He is always willing to sacrafice anything he has. He is also very giving and smart, and forgiving. We love you Hunter, and are glad you are in our family...Happy Birthday

Sunday mornings are such peaceful times for us at the Bangerter house. I dread at times the process of getting my 3 1/2 year old son ready for church. It kinda goes like this..

Mom: "Hunter it's Sunday today, Let's eat breakfast than get our church clothes on, Ok?"
Hunter: No, Mom I'm not going to church today, I will stay home".
Mom: You can't stay by yourself!
Hunter: It's Ok Mom, I'm not afraid.

The next hour of getting ready seems like pulling teeth with my wonderful son. I usually lay out a cute outfit for him on the bed, and let him know how handsome he is going to look. He than decides it is time to put on some silly outfit, like his frog costume or his Red satin soccer shorts. One Sunday we gave up and decided, it is more important for him to be with us at church, than for him to be dressed up. That Day he wore his shorts, graphic T-shirt and tennis shoes, and a smile on his face. Oh how I love the trials of parenting, I guess it could be worse right? What do I do to not be set up for these weekly sabbath battles.

As it says in the above comic strip; "Where were going can't be fun, cause you made me wear my Sunday clothes". I really hope he grows out of this sabbath day morning ritual.

So here is Mother's Day Revisited. Mason Made me an adorable Mother's day card, and is was so precious the picture he drew of the both of us.(Apparently we are both wearing blue jeans with out shirts, gotta love it!) The Boys and daddy were so sweet treating me like a princess for the day. Mason made me breakfast, he told me to choose something and I told him to surprise me, and that's just what he did. I got a big Bowl of "LIFE" cereal, it was the greatest. The boys both sang A Mother's day melody at church and it was so cute. Hunter came back after it was over and told me."Mom, I didn't even sing MOM"! Well I guess it's the thought that counts, gotta love my boys!

Mason lost his first tooth this week, he was so excited, yet a little apprehensive to lose that first tooth. It's like another milestone in your child's life like, walking and saying their first words...it's their FIRST! He wanted me to take him to the dentist and have him pull it. I told him it will come out on it's own, and it did. He was eating a snowcone with friends down the street, and Yep...it came right out. All the neighborhood kids were so excited for him. He went to put the tooth under his pillow for the "Tooth Fairy", and he came down and said, "Mom I lost my tooth, I've looked everywhere in my room." He had lost his little tooth on it's way under the pillow. We tore the room apart, and then I said let's say a prayer, Right when we were going to kneel down, I saw out of the corner of my eye, a little tooth in beween the metal bed frame and the box spring, it had fallen. He gave me the biggest hug and said, "Thanks Mom." He is such a wonderful little boy.

We watched "Marley and Me" today, it was such a cute movie! I got a little teary eyed watching it. It's a great movie to watch in this cold weather snuggled up on the couch, Loved it!

Ok, So let me explain.. It is my turn to teach our neighborhood preschool this week. The lesson is on, "In and Out" and "Up and Down". I was thinking about what to do with the kids, I asked for Brian's input on what to do for a lesson. Like all men..He got a big grin on his face and said.. Well, that should be one interesting lesson on Sex. Oh My Goodness, is that all you have on your mind? Oh well, thanks for your input Honey! We will have to see how this weeks preschool goes. Don't worry Preschool Mom's, still send your kids to school. I promise I won't teach them about the "Birds and the Bee's".

Our Fire Safety Field Trip

We had the opportunity to go on a preschool field trip this week. It was my week to teach and I decided let's go on an adventure! My brother Justin is a firefighter in Salt Lake City, and he kindly allowed us to go on a tour of the firehouse and learn a little about fire safety.
It started out as a little road trip with our little passengers..Jacob, Hunter and Aiden. We were continually reminded to stop talking..they were watching their movie! We arrived with a pretty cool shout out to the "Eagles Gate Preschool" from the dispatcher over the loud speaker, it was pretty cool. We got to see where they eat, sleep, study, Exercise, and of course watch a little T.V.(we found out who get's to hold the remote, my brother of course.)
Here's the kids in front of "Woody the Fire Fighter".We learned about the gear they wear in order to put out a fire, the kids even got a chance to try on the gear too!The kids got the opportunity to get inside the firetruck and sit in the chairs and put on the headphones. They even turned on the air horn and the sirens, it was pretty cool.Hunter got to hold the big Axe.
Afterwards the kids were given their own firebadge, Hat, coloring book and pencil. We had a great time on our field trip..Thanks Uncle Justin.

Well it's been 7 years for me and Brian, it seems like it was yesterday when we met and started dating. We met in 1996 in our BYU ward and I was attracted to his stunning wool plaid slacks, as he was passing the sacrament at church, that drew me to him(he was kinda cute too!) He found out I was checking him out and we started hanging out and had some good times together. We remained friends, and had our weekly tue/thur lunches together on campus. He drove there even though he didn't have classes just to be with me..how sweet. We were also dating other people amongst this, it was great times, just talking and eating. I went on a mission(He dated and waited as he told me..yeah right!) When I got back from my mission we reconnected, started back up where we left off, and knew were meant to be together. Brian thanks for 7 wonderful years, 2 beautiful boys, and here's to many more even better years ahead of us.

2008 in Review

Well I figure I should update my blog, I haven't done it since like... Last year, OK. So I thought I would do a month by month year in review of what us Bangerter's have been up to. LETS BEGIN shall we!

JANUARY
We were still living in Midway, loving it up there with all the beautiful snow, YET, the drive down Provo canyon daily for myself and Brian was getting to be too much. It was time to move closer to our work. We also celebrated our 6Th Wedding Anniversary.

FEBRUARY
We decided to start looking for a place to live and we found a great place in Eagle Mountain. We looked at it on Thursday and were moved in on Saturday, wheew, it was a quick pack up job for us to say the least.

MARCH
It was a very long winter/spring for us yet we got to know our neighbors and enjoyed having fun despite the chilly weather.

APRIL
We had a great Easter at our new home in Eagle Mountain, Uncle Nick came home temporarily from his mission in San Diego, and we got to spend Easter with him. this was one of the first years we didn't venture down to warmer weather in St. George, that's OK we still had fun.

MAY
We had the opportunity to plant our own garden this year, it was so much fun to see the fruits and vegetables grow. The kids had fun taking care of it daily, and watering and picking the vegetables.

JUNE
Jessica Turned 31...Yikes, We had a great summer riding bikes, swimming in the pool, eating Popsicles, and staying cool, it was a great summer.

JULY
My Youngest baby Hunter turned 3, we had a big birthday bash, all my family was there. We had a great time just relaxing, and eating too of course.

AUGUST
Mason started Kindergarten and Hunter started preschool. The boys are doing such a great job academically and socially in their classes.

SEPTEMBER
Soccer season is back, we had such a fun time supporting Mason at his soccer games, he did such a good job, and he is becoming so much more talented, Hunter can't wait until he can play too.

OCTOBER
Mason Turned 6 years old. We had a sports themed party and invited all his friends, we really had a great time.

NOVEMBER
Happy Thanksgiving, it seems like it was just here. We started out our day with the traditional Bangerter family bowling party, we all had a blast.
We then headed over to the Morrow's for dinner and then to the Bangerter's for dessert, it was a great Thanksgiving.

DECEMBER
The holidays have come and gone. We had a very calm and enjoyable Christmas season this year. Everyone was so giving this Christmas season and we had a chance to reflect as a family the true meaning of Christmas.

"A Stocking for Jesus"

At this time of year I feel we get too wrapped upon the commercialism of the Christmas season, and don’t step back to ponder and realize the true meaning of Christmas. The other day my sweet neighbor boy Connor came over and noticed we had two stocking hung from our mantle. He said “Where’s your stocking for Jesus". I told him we didn’t have one. He told me we needed to get a stocking for Jesus so we could write notes to him and fill it with presents. I thought what a brilliant idea. I guess that sometimes the simple things in life are really the most important; I just had to be reminded by a sweet 6 year old boy, thanks Connor.

The Polar Express

We had the oportunity to go up to Heber and ride the "Polar Express Train". It was such a blast, and the boys had so much fun. We went with Grandma and Grandpa Rich and enjoyed entertainment by Santa's elves, chocolate chip cookies and Hot Chocolate (It was pretty darn good I must say.)

We sang Christmas carols and the boys told the elves what they want for Christmas. Mason told the elves he wanted a Wii, and Hunter wanted a candy sucker ring. I am thinking I like the second of the two gifts, more in my budget, and yet very simple.

We had an enjoyable time relaxing and looking out the windows as we approached the "North Pole"...(aka the other side of deer creek.) WE arrived and the boys got to meet Santa, and he gave them a gift of Christmas... A Christmas Bell.

So I have finally gotten around to posting our Halloween photos, It's still Fall right! We decided to all dress up like Pirates, I thought ok, it's Mason's 4th year as a Pirate, and he only just turned 6. He really likes the pirate look, and the costume is pretty easy to put together.

Mason's Sports Birthday

Mason Had a wonderful 6th Birthday. He decided he would have a sports themed party and all were invited to wear a favorite sports jersey, Mason of course chose the soccer jersey. We played party games, had a donut on a string race, played sports in the backyard, ate pizza and drank root beer and just had a great time hanging out with our friends.

So my oldest baby has officially turned 6 years old last week. It has been such an eventful week for us all. Mason was Due on Halloween, but surprised us a couple days early being born Oct 28th. That was fine with me, he was a hefty little baby weighing in at 8 lbs 6 oz. He took his dear time and then made his entrance in this world, red hair and all! He has been such a blessing to our family. He is so fun loving, smart,creative and very active and energetic. He has grown up so much and we can't believe what a handsome boy he has become. We Love You Mason!

Our Lovely Garden

Yes, we had a successful gardening season this summer. We ended up with a plethora of better boy tomatoes, jelly bean/grape tomatoes, Asian Pears on our tree, 3 Cute pumpkins, a little cantaloupe, and watermelon, Lettuce, Carrots, Sunflowers, and some funny looking Cucumbers.

Over all it is was a nice little harvest. We got a little over our heads, planting so many things in such a tiny space. I guess next year our garden will be expanding, all down the length of our backyard fence. It was really great when the boys would say "I am hungry", and I'd just tell them to go in the back yard and pick something from the garden to eat, it was great. Hunter especially, enjoyed eating our harvest this year.

Mom, Is it ok to say Sabbath?

Today Mason had the opportunity to give the prayer at church for Jr. Primary. At the end of Sacrament meeting he turned to me and said, Mom I am giving the prayer today in primary. I asked him if he needed to think about what he should pray about. He said, "Mom, is it ok, if I say the word Sabbath, I said of course." Brian, Hunter and I went to listen(observe) his prayer, and he was so excited, it seemed from where we were sitting. He did an excellent job, but he kept his eyes wide opened the whole time, panning across the entire Primary. He told me afterwards, Mom, I kept my eyes open, because I was kinda nervous up there.

Bend it like Bangerter!

Soccer is now underway, and what a great season it has been so far. Mason seems to be improving every game, he sure has raw talent for the game. It's great to watch these kids out there having a great time. This season he is playing for the City of Eagle Mountain.
His team is called the "Dragon's". I am so proud of Mason and his love of the game and desire to learn and be taught new skills.

Back To School

Well it is that time of the year...Back to School ! I Have Officially sent off My first born child to kindergarten. It was a prety wonderful experience, for me at least. Mason Started school at a charter school here in Eagle Mountain called the Ranches Academy. We took a couple pics by the front door and then headed off to school. The kindergardeners all lined up on one side of the hallway and the parents with cameras in hand were on the opposite wall. For any of those who have been to the MTC, it was a mini version of that. We all said our goodbyes, and there were a few tears shed, and a lot of anticipation. His teacher Mrs. Brown announced to say your final goodbye, and the parents went one way and the children went the other way. It was a pretty neat experience. Now I have all this free time What do I do with myself? Oh Just kidding I have one more child still home in the afternoons with me. Hunter started going to a neighborhood preschool, a couple of mom's rotate teaching the kids 2 times a week, it is really working out well. It really is nice to have that one on one time with each child in the day. I Love my Boys!

Bear Lake Family Reunion

We Had the opportunity to go to Bear Lake for our Family Reunion this year. We enjoyed hanging out with family, boating, wake boarding, tubing, playing on the beach, and just having a good time relaxing. Here are a few family pictures for you to enjoy!

My boys are the greatest. You can find them interested in such great activities. Mason loves to play the guitar like his daddy. After breakfast one morning, he decided to go out on the patio, and play a little on the guitar, he has such a great personality and is very talented. We sure do love our boys. Hunter on the other hand Is our very creative and imaginative one. the other day I found him in the front room talking to someone. I asked him who he was talking to and he said grandma. Apparently he had taken the red pieces from our SORRY game and was using them like ear pieces, he is a very creative child.

Mason's Soccer Season

Well, Spring Soccer for Mason is coming to an end, and he has enjoyed every minute of it. His Team is called the Wildcat's, and they are an amazing bunch of 4 & 5 year olds. They have one of the most amazing and patient coaches I have met. I know for a fact that coaching that age group is not a walk in the park, I coached Mason's team last year in Midway, but it sure was alot of fun. Well until Fall soccer season begins, we will just be hangin' out and practicing in the yard, Good Job on an Awesome soccer Season Mason!

I got the opportunity to give myself a manicure and pedicure and hang out with the neighbor ladies and watch a chick flick and have the bed to myself (no children crawling into it in the night), it was a bit of heaven. When Will Spring Come?

For many of us Utahn's We have been anticipating the warmth of spring. For now we just endure, as Hunter is attempting to do so. He is sporting his brother's Snow jacket, and googles, because the wind is extremly cold. The sacrifices we make to go play outside!

The Boys had the opportunity to visit the dentist, whom we love so much. They were so good, laying back in the dentist chair, getting their teeth cleaned, while wearing headphones watching a movie. Now that's what I call being pampered at the dentist. The kid's were pretty excited to leave with a goodie bag, and a cool spin brush. They are really motivated to brush, we will see how long this lasts.

Bedtime Woes!

Ok so my precious little Hunter is having the roughest time getting to bed. Tonight He came downstairs several times the first excuse was, "my nose is on fire", then a few minutes later "Mom my ears are on fire too". Then he comes back down again and says "I have Dirt in my eye", then back down again, "Mom, Now I have dirt in my Ear". I Kindly respond without laughing too hard, It's gonna be O.K. Hunter then responds, "Mom it's my right ear"! Heaven Help Me, what am I to do with my wandering sleepless child. He has also decided to Ban naps all together. Please other parent's any advice what to do with this?

Peanut Butter Cookies!

Mason had his friends Easton & Conner over this afternoon, and we decided that it would be fun to make some peanut butter cookies. All the boy's helped add an ingredient, one at a time and stir the cookies dough. Mason cracked the egg, yet it ended up on the counter instead of in the bowl, and the cracked egg shell was in the bowl. They have to learn sometime to begin cooking! Look the finished product...Tadaa!

Yum these cookies are delicious, especially with a cold glass of Milk!

The Boys decided to make a Human Taco, with our trampoline cushion cover. It was pretty funny as they enjoyed dog pilling on top of each other. Hunter decided he would just watch from afar, they were getting pretty crazy!

We have enjoyed the new neighborhood we have moved into in the Ranches, the boy's have made so many friends, and everybody has been so friendly to us! The new favorite toy is our Radio Flyer Red Wagon. The kids love to pull each other in it and get rides. Mason loves to go to the top of the driveway and run as fast as he can and make the other kids scream, he get's a kick out of that!

Hunter thought he looked pretty cool in uncle Nick's Slippers This Easter we spent it with Brian's Parent's and Uncle Nick. We had so much Fun, hiding and looking for eggs. Easter dinner was delicious if I don't say myself. It was great to just be home and relax with those we love!

We Just Moved!

For those of you that have not heard yet we just moved. We have left beautiful Midway and live in the Ranches in Eagle Mountain. So Far we are loving it, we have so much space to spread out and Mason is loving the fact that there are so many kids to play with in the neighborhood. He just met the boy across the street, and guess what his name is Mason too! He thinks that is pretty cool. Well My camera is not working too good, so when that get's fixed I will post some pictures.
